Fenimore Art Museum wants to showcase the young, emerging artists of the region through a contest and exhibition each year in which winning middle and high school students have their artwork exhibited in the museum’s Community Gallery for an audience of thousands!
Young at Art! Regional Youth Art Contest will serve regional youth in grades 6 – 12. We invite young artists to join us as we explore this year’s theme, memory, through a variety of media, including painting, drawing, photography, 2D art, graphic design, and sculpture. Works should be submitted to the contest by April 1, 2022.
10 art kits containing oil, acrylic, and watercolor paints, oil pastels, colored pencils, brushes, and more will be awarded to the best work of art in each of the five media categories in both the Junior and Senior divisions. $250 will be awarded to the Grand Prize Winner. $150 will be awarded for the Best Representation of the Theme. $200 will be awarded to one class or school with an outstanding number of participating students. Winning artworks will be included in a special exhibition at Fenimore Art Museum from May 27th, 2022 – July 4th, 2022.
Please feel encouraged to contact Michelle Bosma, Manager of Youth Programs, to learn more about participating in Young at Art!
