Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum seek a Development Associate to cultivate giving campaigns and events which enhance the unforgettable experience our members and donors have. The ideal Development Associate will engage members and donors with their pleasant demeanor, timely responses, creative thinking, planning skills, and ability to create positive partnerships.
The Development Associate’s primary responsibilities are donor event management, including giving campaigns; private donor events; an annual fundraising gala; and donor communication, including gift acknowledgments and monthly correspondence. The Development Associate reviews and manages donor benefits. The Development Associate is a member of the creative team which strategizes appeals, including the Annual Appeal. The Development Associate will coordinate the Annual Report, including editing, drafting overall narrative, and coordinating with the designer to produce the final product.
The successful candidate will be an energetic, enthusiastic and outgoing development professional with exceptional people skills; highly organized; creative; excellent writing skills; equally comfortable speaking in front of large and small groups, and with one-on-one communications; and well-versed in Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge databases. The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of two-years previous Fund Development experience, including experience organizing and planning events. Some weekend and evening work is required of the candidate.
