The seventh annual Art by the Lake will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014, from 10:00 am–5:00 pm, on the museum's exquisite back lawn overlooking Otsego Lake.

The 111th Annual Meeting of the New York State Historical Association features remarks on Winslow Homer by David Tatham, professor emeritus of fine arts at Syracuse University. The exhibition Winslow Homer: The Nature and Rhythm of Life, from the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie is on display at the Fenimore from June 6–August 24.

Account books, ledgers, letters, and diaries from New York State farm families provide a unique window into life in the 1800s. Many of these historical documents, in the collection of the New York State Historical Association, Cooperstown, N.Y., are now findable and available for public use. A generous grant from the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation, New York, N.Y., was used to process and catalog these New York State agricultural records.
