2012 Americana Symposium: Civil War Era Material Culture

Schedule:

Afternoon musical peformance and presentation at The Farmers' Museum (1:00pm-2:30pm): 77th New York Regimental Balladeers, "Hard Times Come Again No More: America's Heart Songs"

All day

  • Visit the Fenimore Art Museum's exhibition, On the Home Front: New York in the Civil War.
  • Watch staff and volunteers demonstrate silk flag painting as they paint a reproduction Regimental flag. (throughout the day at The Farmers' Museum)
  • Learn more about life in the mid-19th century at The Farmers' Museum.

 

Entry is included with museum admission and NYSHA members are free.
