COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (04/17/2014) — Local historians and educators from across the state gather in Poughkeepsie at Marist College for the 2014 Conference on New York State History on June 12-14. The conference highlights the latest research on New York History and culture and is open to the public.

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y.— May 30, 2014—The Fenimore Art Museum hosts the annual Cooperstown High School exhibit Our Town. In this special project, students interview community members and create artistic interpretations of their life experiences and beliefs.
The Native American Performing Arts Series is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about a culture with a deep, lasting impact on our region. Join us Saturdays at 1:00 pm on the terrace at the Fenimore Art Museum for a special show at 1:00 pm.

On Wednesdays in August, kids ages 4–8 take part in art classes related to current exhibitions.
August 6: Sights and Sounds of Winslow Homer: Discuss what you can and can't see in Homer's paintings and create a sailboat craft ready to handle the rough seas.
August 13: Beads in Native American Art: Examine beaded pouches and bags and make your own to take home.
