2015 was a great year at our beloved museum, but you will not want to miss what 2016 has in store. The April 1, 2016 opening will kick-off a season filled with a wide-range of exciting exhibits featuring world-renowned artists such as Ansel Adams, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and James Abbott McNeill Whistler, among others. We also have a new installation featuring pieces from our Thaw Collection which never disappoints. Anyone visiting the museum will find something fascinating. The 2016 calendar is very strong and reflects a growing understanding of audience needs and wants, and our museum’s potential and capability.
The Lucy B. Hamilton Amphitheater will bring spectacular on-stage performances to this unique and special gathering place overlooking Otsego Lake. This season, the Fenimore’s Glimmer Globe Theatre will produce The Crucible as a complement to Glimmerglass Festival’s opera in July and Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet in August. We will also host a 4th of July celebration which will include a spectacular view of the annual fireworks display across the Lake.
We look forward to seeing you all in Cooperstown and hope you will enjoy all we have to offer.
