Conference on New York State History - Lodging

The 2011 Conference on New York State History
Lodging and Travel Information

We encourage you to reserve your lodging as soon as possible, as the tourist season in Cooperstown will be in full swing by early June. You can view a list that includes some of the nearby lodging options here [link to lodging list page]. For additional options, you can also check the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce or ThisIs Cooperstown.com.

Hartwick College Dorm Lodging
Dorm rooms will be available at Hartwick College. The college is located in Oneonta, approximately 20 miles south of Cooperstown. (Please note that the college is NOT located in the town of Hartwick, NY.) Hartwick College is a small liberal arts and sciences college that sits on Oyaron Hill overlooking the city of Oneonta. The deadline for dorm reservations is Friday, May 6. You can reserve a space in the Hartwick dorms as part of your online registration.

Please estimate between 30 and 45 minutes for the driving time between the college and the conference location. A morning and evening shuttle will be provided between the Hartwick College dorm in Oneonta and the conference site in Cooperstown. To be sure that we can provide enough transportation, the deadline for reserving a space on the shuttle is Friday, May 6. If you sign up for this option, you will be contacted by our conference staff with shuttle details. For more information on the college’s location, as well as driving directions, please check the Hartwick website.

Dorm rooms are available for $45 per person per night with linens included or $25 per night without linens. If you plan to bring your own linens, please note that the beds have twin extra long mattresses. You will reserve your room in the dorms through the Conference, but will pay Hartwick College directly when you check in at the dorm. Food service will not be available on campus as the dining hall will be closed during this week. The rooms are not temperature controlled, so bringing a fan is recommended in case of warm weather.

If you have any questions about dorm lodging or the shuttle service, please email historyconference@nysha.org.
