Meanings of the Mask
Grades: 4th-8th | Duration: 2 hours

Tour the Thaw Gallery of American Indian Art and learn about the masks of the Yup’ik culture of the Alaskan tundra in our most popular program. Students will play a special gallery game based on our collection of masks to learn how celebration and tradition was important to the survival of native cultures. Students will then create masks of their own to take home.
