Object Name Dance Kilt
Description Tesuque Dance Kilt. A kilt composed of panels of native tanned leather, decorated with a serpent motif in black, white, yellow, and blue and red pigments. The fringed lower border is strung with large copper, brass and tin cone "rattles," some of which were made from bullet cartridges or pieces of tin cans.; Medium/Materials: Commercial tanned leather, pigments, brass, copper and tin cones; Marks: On leather tying strap, in blue ink: "Paul Vigil"; some of the jingles are made from tin cans and have a green background with lettering: "ED IN / FU"; "P"; "OBIL/ATS";
