Description Fancy Basket by Elizabeth Conrad Hickox; Medium/Materials: Maidenhair fern (Adiantum pedatum), yellow dyed porcupine quills, split willow (Salix spp.) or wild grape (Vitis californica) root, myrtle sticks. Porcupine quills are dyed with staghorn lichen (wolf moss).;

History Scholarly Attributions: [1] Coleen Kelley Marks' comments (Spring 1996): Variation on flint design or "nutihaniich" in Karuk. [2] S. McLendon believes that this basket can be identified in Grace Nicholson Basket Ledger as 6733. McLendon removed White bear grass (Xerophylum tenax) from the materials section.
