[1] Michael J. Hering, School of American Research - February 17, 1993 - "To date, I have not found much information about Meigs. However, Little Turtle ws the principle chief of all of the Miami tribe Septs in the lands that became Ohio in the mid to late 18th century. His Miami Algonquian name was Michikinigua." [2] Ted Brasser notes that the statements made by Michael J. Hering which link the bag to a Chief Little Turtle of Miami Tribe should be discounted. |
