Throughout the year, Special Events are offered at the Fenimore Art Museum and, across the street at its sister institution, The Farmers' Museum.  Many are open to the public.  Occasionally reservations are required or special admission pricing applies; please see specific listings.

The 2008 Annual Benefit Gala | July 18 2008 | 6:30 –11:00 p.m.

This summer the New York State Historical Association and The Farmers’ Museum present the 5th Annual Benefit Gala—Buffalo to Broadway: Celebrate New York. Buffalo to Broadway will celebrate New York’s dynamic past and brilliant future.

The gala will be held July 18, 2008, at 6:30 pm, in the Louis C. Jones Center at The Farmers’ Museum, in Cooperstown, New York. The Empire State’s vibrant history will be brought to life with entertainment, food, wine, and silent auction items from across the state.

Escape for the evening as the Louis C. Jones center is transformed into a New York retreat. Glam and strut at the disco reminiscent of NYC’s legendary Studio 54, and experience the rush of “Saratoga” video horse racing. Take a piece of the celebration home with silent auction items like Adirondack, Hudson Valley, and Cape Cod getaways, epicurean extravaganzas, fine artisan crafts, New York City outings, and fun family adventures!

What makes this party unique? All proceeds from Buffalo to Broadway: Celebrate New York will be used to benefit the acquisitions funds at NYSHA’s Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum, ensuring that both museums continue to collect and conserve New York’s cultural heritage.
