For Teachers

Art, history and culture are made vivid and personal through the fine collections, tours, and workshops offered at the Fenimore Art Museum, one of the premier art museums in upstate New York. Our extensive collections of American fine and folk art, as well as one of the most spectacular exhibits of Native American art in the country, make the Fenimore Art Museum an excellent resource for teachers and students.

We offer a variety of School Programs including our popular tours , workshops , and Museum Quest program. Our travel grants can help your school access the Fenimore Art Museum.

We also have an active Distance Learning Program that can bring the museum’s resources to classrooms all over the world. And we offer professional development opportunities for educators through The New York State Historical Association's annual October Conference for Teachers .
