SHOPPING
The Farmers’ Museum has completely redesigned the Museum Store in the Herders’ Cottage for 2007. The new, expanded store features more merchandise based on the history and culture of New York State and America, as well as specialty items produced right here at the Museum.
Todd’s General Store, on the Museum grounds and on this site, offers products that you would find in a typical store in the mid 19th century. These items make great gifts and directly support the museum craft program.
Cross the street to the Fenimore Art Museum and visit two more stores. The Fenimore Museum Shop, located on the main level of the Museum, includes special merchandise from regional artists, books and gifts related to art and the history of New York State, and many other surprises. The Heritage Shop, adjacent to the Eugene and Clare Thaw American indian wing, features Native American works of art, jewelry, books and folk art.
DINING
For 2007 and 2008 we invite you to stop by the Stone Barn Dairy Bar, located at the end of the Ice Cream: Our Cool Obsession exhibit in the Main Barn, for sandwiches, wraps, salads, cold drinks, and of course ice cream treats. You can also purchase snacks and beverages in Bump Tavern further out on the Museum grounds in the historic village.
Walk directly across the street to the Fenimore Art Museum to dine al fresco on the flagstone terrace, or in the intimate Fenimore Café. The changing menu includes wraps, salads, homemade soups, grilled specialties, fresh baked goods, soft drinks, coffee, a wide assortment of teas, wine and beer served in a spectacular lakeside setting.
Plan your trip to Cooperstown.
