COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (05/14/2014) — Individuals of all ages interested in theatre performance are invited to join a troupe of volunteer actors now forming at The Farmers’ Museum and Fenimore Art Museum. Acting training is not necessary. “Casting calls” for information and to sign up are being held at The Farmers’ Museum on Saturday, May 17, 24, and 31 from 2–4 pm and Tuesday, May 27 from 6–8 pm and Thursday, May 29 from 6–8 pm.
The actors will lead historical-character tours of The Farmers’ Museum and Fenimore Art Museum. They will also present vignettes and short and full-length plays, including Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Director of Education Danielle Newell emphasizes that “volunteer actors can expect to learn a lot, to make wonderful friends and to have a ton of fun!”
The “casting calls” are opportunities to learn more; they are not auditions. Some acting experience is a plus for those interested in joining the troupe, but dedication is the only requirement. Volunteers must be available for rehearsals and performances on weekends and some few evenings.
Those interested in joining this new dramatic interpretation troupe are invited to attend one of the “casting calls” or to call 607-287-9212 or to e-mail email@example.com.
The casting calls are held at The Farmers’ Museum, 5785 State Highway 80 (Lake Rd.), Cooperstown, NY 13326.
