Wednesdays, August 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 3:00-4:00 pm
COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (07/23/2014) — Kids learn best while they’re having fun! These art classes at the Fenimore Art Museum captivate kids ages 4 to 8. Related to the museum’s current exhibitions, there is something new each week in these one-hour classes.
August 6: Sights and Sounds of Winslow Homer: Discuss what you can't see in Homer's paintings and create a sailboat craft ready to handle the rough seas.
August 13: Beads in Native American Art: Examine beaded pouches and bags and make your own to take home.
August 20: Madame Butterfly and Japanese Woodblock Prints: Investigate the butterflies in two different exhibits and craft a colorful butterfly mobile.
August 27: Folk Art Comes Alive: Look at animals depicted by folk artists and make your own bendy animal from pipe cleaners.
$5 per session. No need to register; just pay at the door. Contact Joan Cullen for more information at (607) 547-1461. The museum is located at 5798 State Highway 80, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
