2014 Auction Preview

The Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum proudly present a preview of the grand items that you will have a chance to win on July 18 at the Annual Benefit Gala! Place your bid at our live auction during dinner or take part in our silent auction throughout the evening. Into the Woods and Lunch at Leatherstocking Farm for 10

Enjoy lunch and then head into the woods at Leatherstocking Farm. A group of 10 will be welcomed by Steve and Mercedes Gotwald. A mutually agreeable date will be scheduled between July and mid-October 2014. Donated by Steve and Mercedes Gotwald.

Farmlands Cocktail Party for 25

Invite 25 of your closest friends to a cocktail party around a large fire pit on the hill with stunning views of Otsego Lake! A mutually agreeable date will be scheduled. Donated by Lou Hager.

To the Races!

Experience the oldest thoroughbred race track in the United States with private box at Saratoga! The winner will receive two weekdays of their choice for the 2014 Saratoga season, Friday July 18 through September 1 (excluding Travers Week). The private box seats 5. Adirondack Adventure

Spend two nights at the Vanderbilt’s Great Camp Sagamore! Located in Raquette Lake, NY, within the Adirondack Forest Preserve, this National Historic Landmark designated wilderness estate was owned by the Alfred G. Vanderbilt family from 1901-1954. Your rest and relaxation will be assured as you enjoy 20 miles of hiking trails, playing lawn games, canoeing, and a tour of the historic estate. Guests are called to chef-prepared buffet meals by a bell. This package also includes two passes and a curator-led tour of the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, NY. After Rain

Painted by Mary Nolan, 8 x 10 in. oil painting, framed, “After Rain” is a plein air painting of a swollen stream on Rathbun Road, after the rain ceased on an autumn afternoon. Donated by Mary Nolan.

Autumn’s Hush

Painted by Susan Jones Kenyon, 13 x 19 in. oil on canvas, framed, this serene edge of trees embraces the hush of autumn. Donated by Susan Jones Kenyon.

St. Regis River, Northern Adirondack Mountains

Leatherstocking Golf

A round of golf at Leatherstocking Golf Course and lunch at the Golf Grill for four. Package includes two golf carts. Donated by Jane Forbes Clark.

Cruise on Lake Otsego

Cruise for a whole week on a 20-foot pontoon boat. The boat has a 40-horse four-stroke engine and seats 8 to 10 people. The boat is slipped at Goodyear Lake but if the winner is a member of the Cooperstown Country Club, then the winner has the option of a slip at the club and can use the boat on Otsego Lake. Must be redeemed before September 15, 2014. Donated by Marc and Elaine Bresee.

Kayak Adventure

A half-day kayak rental from Canoe and Kayak of Portlandville. Winner may paddle out from Canoe and Kayak on the Susquehanna River, or pick up the rental and transport to and from Cooperstown. Donated by Canoe and Kayak Rental and Sales.

Winslow Homer Private Tour and Lunch

A private tour for six led by President and CEO Paul D’Ambrosio. A lunch on the south terrace overlooking the lake will follow. Redeem by August 24, 2014. Donated by the Fenimore Art Museum.

Tour of Historic Homes and Lunch

Embark on a tour of these historic homes in Cooperstown: Edgewater, 1 Lake Street (Doug and Carrie Thompson), 2 Chestnut Street (Kevin and Fran Harris), 20 Fair Street (Mike and Carol Manno), and the Crooked House, 41 Lake Street (Jason and Lisbeth McCoy). Followed by a lunch catered by the Firehouse Market at Edgewater. Tickets for this outing will be sold at the Gala. $40 per ticket. Dinner for Six at the Blue Mingo
